| Artist's Statement |
I work in a variety of media but principally linocut, mixed media, acrylic and watercolour. My subject matter reflects my interest in nature, landscape, garden and architectural settings, and everyday objects. I like to evoke atmosphere through subject and colour. I am drawn to subjects which display a rich historical past or have a strong sense of place, be it intimate and domestic or part of a larger landscape. I am interested in the underlying shapes and forms that impose structure and design on a subject and aim to incorporate them into my work. Colour, texture, pattern and line are all significant elements in my work and together, combine to produce work that is strong and uplifting in its impact.

| Biography |
My career as an artist began in the early 1990’s following a complete change of career direction. Having graduated with a degree in History in 1979 from the University of Leeds, I went on to gain a postgraduate certificate in Museum Studies, before joining The Museum of London in 1980.
In 1993 I left my job as Press Officer at the Museum to do a degree in Art and Design and graduated in 1995 with a degree from the University of East Anglia. Since then I have been steadily building a reputation for my work, exhibiting at galleries in East Anglia. I am a founder member of Artworks and since 2003 its Chairperson. I am also a member of the Suffolk Craft Society, and exhibit annually with Norfolk Arts at Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk.
