| Artist's Statement |
I work in a variety of media but linocut and mixed media collage predominate. I love linocut for the boldness and strength of image it produces. Subject matter continues to be drawn from my response to nature, landscape, and garden settings. I look for the underlying shapes and forms that impose structure and design on a subject and try to incorporate these into my work. Evoking atmosphere through use of colour, texture, pattern and line is important. It is these elements as well as the subject, to which I respond. They can make for a ‘heady’ mix which calls for a visual celebration.

| Biography |
My career as an artist began in the early 1990’s following a complete change of career direction. Having graduated with a degree in History in 1979 from the University of Leeds, I went on to gain a postgraduate certificate in Museum Studies, before joining The Museum of London in 1980.
In 1993 I left my job as Press Officer at the Museum to do a degree in Art and Design and graduated in 1995 with a degree from the University of East Anglia. Since then I have been steadily building a reputation for my work, exhibiting at galleries in East Anglia. I am a founder member of Artworks and since 2003 its Chairperson. I am also a member of the Suffolk Craft Society, and exhibit annually with Norfolk Arts at Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk.
