Lesley Bermingham

Painter/Printmaker
Artist's Statement
Lesley is a painter and printmaker who enjoys working in a variety of media, including oils, acrylics and pastels. Making full use of her printmaking training she finds combining traditional and contemporary techniques an exciting and liberating way to work.

Her subject matter often reflects topics of personal interest including natural forms, environmental issues and more recently music and movement. On occasions, she is inspired to simply capture that fleeting moment while at other times her work takes on a more narrative approach.

Biography
In London, Lesley combined her commercial career with artistic commissions, but in 1990 sought a quieter pace of life and moved to Suffolk. Her long awaited ambition to pursue art full time was realised in 1998 when she began a full time Fine Art Degree in Cambridge. Since graduating with a First Class Honours in 2001 Lesley has exhibited her work in galleries in East Anglia, Cornwall and Herefordshire and lectured in her subject, printmaking.
