| Artist's Statement |
My interest in watercolour began in the late
80's when I visited North Norfolk for the first time. I was
struck by the unspoilt nature of the area, the huge and magnificent
skies and beaches.
Seeing the sand being lifted and swirling in the sky by the
vagaries of the weather, fascinates me. Watching rain approaching
and the way it affects the sea and the landscape I find awe
inspiring. And hot summer days, the peace and quiet and utter
stillness keep me there. Listening to the seabirds as the sun
sets, I turn my back keeping the image fresh in my mind. I drive
home, distil the image and paint. Wonderful!

| Biography |
I trained at the Central School of Art and
Design, doing a BA Hons degree in Set and Costume Design. After
working for many years in the industry, I turned my back on
London and came back to the countryside. I have painted watercolours
since l987 and am now embarking on oil painting. Co-founder of Artworks, I became a
Fellow of the Royal Society in 2000. I exhibit widely in the
East Anglian region.
