Eileen Revett

Fine Artist/Printmaker
Artist's Statement

The nature of time and the perception of temporality are the central concepts in Revett's studio practice. Through the process of printmaking, using repetition, sequence and series, she seeks to materialise our experience and perception of time.
Her current work is focussed on notions regarding the potential of repetition and rhythm for creating infinite change. Suggestive of meditation and prayer mantras found in Eastern philosophies, her embossments and black and white grids are often layered and printed onto fine Japanese papers.

'If we die of repetition we are also saved and healed by it' Gilles Deleuze

Biography

Formerly a teacher, Eileen is currently studying for an MA in Printmaking at Cambridge School of Art. Her research into how we perceive time has led to a passion for the printmaking process, particularly blind embossment and woodcut printing.

She is a founder member of the ‘Quartz’ group who work together to exhibit their art and to encourage their individual professional development. Eileen is also a member of Gainsborough's House Print Workshop.
