Artist and Architect
Artist's Statement
I originally trained at Art School and subsequently studied Architecture. My work has always been inspired by the exhilaration of travel, new places, new senses, and impressions.

Biography

Originally I trained at the Royal College of Art, London graduating with an MA. I then studied Architecture at the Architectural Association, graduating in 1974. I formed my own design practice and spent the next 25 years working on a wide variety of projects ranging from film sets to a 28-suite yacht. I travelled throughout this period working on commissions in the USA, Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Russia, Cuba and England. The culmination was a 30-acre Mogul Estate built over a ten-year period on a private Island in the West Indies. Currently I am designing and supervising the total refit of a 60-metre motor yacht being reconstructed in a shipyard in Croatia. In tandem, I am working on the design of a Global Peace centre on Lake Las Vegas, USA, and a cascading water garden, presently under construction in northern Greece.
During the past five years I have been retracing the journeys of three 18th and 19th century travelling artists who recorded the three great world faiths - Islam, Buddhism and Orthodox Christianity. This has involved sketching and painting - Islamic mosques and monuments in North Africa and India, Buddhist Dzongs in Bhutan and the monasteries of Mount Athos and Meteora in Greece. This collection will be exhibited at the National Theatre in London during May 2008.
